Learning to tie a perfect bow is something I remember learning as a little girl, but I didn't realize how helpful it would be until I was grown up with girls of my own. Whether it is a pony tail or a princess dress or a beautifully packaged present, the perfect bow comes in handy.
So what is a perfect bow?
A perfect bow is when the two loops are on top, the two ties are on bottom, and the entire thing lays flat without being wonky or crooked.
The key to tying a perfect bow is simple, and once you know it, you won't ever go back.
First, tie a simple knot.
Once you have tied the knot, you will notice that there is a piece of ribbon that points up and a piece of ribbon that points down.
Make the first loop of the bow with the piece that is pointing down.
Then use the piece that is pointing up to wrap the first loop and and push through to make the second loop.
Pull both loops completely through until they are even.
The secret is to always use the piece that is pointing down to make your first loop. Remember this trick and you'll be on your way to perfect bows every time!
